Wolfgang Mattheuer – Bilder als Botschaft

kunstsammlung

For the 90th birthday of the painter and co-founder of the Leipzig School Wolfgang Mattheuer (1927-2004), the Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle, the Netherlands, presented a retrospective of more than 90 paintings. One focus of the exhibition was on the most important allegorical, often large-format paintings created since 1965. The painting “Stürzender” (Falling Man) was loaned to Zwolle from the Kunstsammlung der Berliner Volksbank.
